Los estudiantes de la UPNA y su disposición a pagar por el uso de las energías renovables

Abstract

El presente trabajo plantea un ejercicio de valoración contingente que trata de hallar la disposición a pagar por un cambio en el abastecimiento de reprografía mediante un incremento en el precio de las fotocopias, de forma que dicho abastecimiento se efectúe mediante paneles fotovoltaicos. Para ello se ha realizado una encuesta a estudiantes de la universidad Pública de Navarra dividida en tres bloques: Un bloque introductorio, otro bloque de valoración contingente y un tercer bloque para caracterizar a los individuos. Posteriormente se analiza el perfil promedio de los individuos, se calcula la disposición a pagar media de los mismos, y se realiza un análisis multivariante mediante una regresión logística para identificar los factores que influyen en si el individuo está dispuesto a pagar o no. Por último se realiza un análisis coste beneficio que trata de cuantificar la rentabilidad de realizar la inversión propuesta en el ejercicio de valoración contingente.

This paper presents a contingent valuation analysis to estimate the willingness to pay (WTP) for a change towards renewable energies (photovoltaic panels) in the energy supply of the reprographic service of the Public University of Navarra through an increase in the price of the photocopies. For this goal, a survey was conducted among the students. The survey broke down into three tasks: identifying attitudes toward climate change and renewable energies, constructing the hypothetical scenario and payment vehicle and collecting auxiliary information about the respondents. The results include (i) a description of the respondent’s average profile, (ii) the estimation of the average WTP, (iii) a multivariate analysis, using a logistic regression, to identify factors that influence the WTP and (iv) a cost benefit analysis to quantify the profitability of the proposed investment on renewables.
