In this work we try to define a methodology that allows us to monitor and control the
contribution of fertilizers to the crop, from RGB and high resolution multispectral images
taking into consideration the hydric supply and temperatures. The images have been taken by
a UAV. A series of flights were made at different dates in the
maize vegetative cycle, at that
time, their corresponding MDS (digital surface models), reflectance maps in green (G), red
(R), red edge (RE) and near infrared (NIR) were obtained, and different vegetation indexes
from those areas of the spectrum.
Only information was extracted from the area defined by the maize alignments and
20 cm on each side to avoid contamination of pixels corresponding to the ground. Later, the
mean values of the MDS values, the reflectance at the four wave
lengths, and the above-mentioned indices for the different flights were plotted graphically. It was intended to
establish a relationship between the behavior of these graphs a
nd the contribution of nitrates
to the plot.
The indices that best represent the variation of the response of the crop in function of
the contribution of Nitrate are the TCARI / OSAVI and the MCARI. Regarding the digital
surface models obtained, no significant change in mean height before and after
nitrate intake
is observed. [--]
