Traducción, adaptación cultural y validación al español de la escala FWC-24

Abstract

La contratransferencia es un conjunto de reacciones emocionales que experimenta el profesional sanitario hacia el paciente y puede interferir negativamente en el proceso terapéutico. El “Feeling Word Checklist-24 es un cuestionario de autoinforme que mide la contratransferencia. El objetivo fue traducir, adaptar culturalmente y validar este cuestionario para su aplicación en nuestro medio clínico. La muestra se compuso por profesionales sanitarios de diferentes especialidades y categorías de centros del Servicio Navarro de Salud que rellenaron el pre-test (N=32), el test definitivo en 6 ocasiones (N=132), el retest (N=22) y el test paralelo (N=22). El análisis factorial reveló 5 factores significativos (Rechazante, Involucrado, Abrumado, Parental y Desinteresado) que mostraron coherencia conceptual con los factores encontrados en otros estudios y explicó el 66% de la varianza. El cuestionario se consolidó con un total de 19 ítems. El α de Cronbach global fue de 0.86. Cuatro de los 5 factores del FWC-E se correlacionaron significativamente con el test paralelo Cuestionario de Contratransferencia Modificado. El FWC-E es un instrumento para evaluar la contratransferencia validado para su uso en España. Para utilizarlo con mayor seguridad sería aconsejable una validación cada vez que se utilice con profesionales o en unidades diferentes a las implicadas en este estudio.

The emotional reactions that the therapist experiences towards the patient, which can negatively interfere with the therapeutic process, are a phenomenon known as countertransference. The “Feeling Word Checklist-24” is a self-report questionnaire that measures countertransference. The objective of this work was to translate, culturally adapt, and validate this questionnaire with the aim of applying it in our healthcare environment. The sample was composed by healthcare professionals from diverse specializations and categories (N=32) coming from several centers of the Healthcare Service of Navarre. They filled in the pre-test (N=32), the final test on six occasions (N=132), the re-test (N=22) and a parallel test (N=22). The factorial analysis revealed five significant factors (Rejecting, Involved, Overwhelmed, Parental, and Disinterested) that showed conceptual coherence with factors found in other studies and explained 66% of the variance. The final version of the test included 19 items. The global Cronbach’s α was 0.86. Four out of the five abovementioned factors were significantly correlated with the parallel test ‘Modified Countertransference Questionnaire’. Therefore, the FWC-E is an instrument that allows the evaluation of countertransference which has been validated using in Spain. However, to further ensure safety, we recommend its validation every time that the questionnaire is used among professionals and/or units that are different to the ones involved in this study.
