Recently, the first 100% electric bus line in Pamplona has been launched. The bus fleet
connects RENFE train station with the UPNA, counting in both bus stops with ultrafast charging
stations that provide the necessary energy to make the complete journey to the other head
stop.
In the UPNA charging station is proposed to add a battery to reduce its power demanded from
the network, being the battery itself the one to supply the difference. In this project, thanks
to the battery, different energy management strategies will be developed to control the
network power. As the network power demanded is reduced, the contracted power
decreases, achieving a significant saving of money every year.
In addition, in future installations of more charging station, the conclusions of this work can
be applied in order to reduce the size of the necessary electric connections and transformation
centers, which can mean a significant cost savings. [--]
