| es_ES |
dc.description.abstract | Background: High intensity strength training is performed to increase strength and muscle hypertrophy. A therapeutic and training alternative is acquiring relevance is the low intensity training with flow restriction, since it allows to achieve both strength and hypertrophy gains to with less training intensity and mechanical stress. Objectives: To verify the scientific evidence of blood flow restriction training as a safe and effective tool for its implementation in the clinic and to gather relevant parameters to make optimal use of it according to the patient and pathology. Methodology: The retrieval and selection of the articles was carried out using the PubMed, Cochrane and PEDro databases. The key words used were "Blood Flow Restriction Training" and the filters used were "human" and the last "10 years". Results: 19 randomized clinical trials were selected showing statistical significance (p<0,05) in terms of strength and hypertrophy in 93,75% and 83,33% respectively. The findings were positive in terms of safety and hightlight relevant aspects to consider prior to prescribing BFR training. Conclusions: The blow flow restriction training is a useful, effective and safe clinical rehabilitation tool to increase strength and muscular hypertrophy in a wide range of ages and physical states, being especially interesting for those people who, due to physical limitations, cannot benefit from high intensity training. | en |
