Reactive N species (RNS) are reactive molecules that plays a very wide role in many
biological organisms. Plants are one of them where its action have been reported in numerous
processes such as breaking dormancy and seed germination, control of stomatal a
perture, plant
defense
against fungal infections or interaction with antioxidants and prooxidants to form other
reactive compounds. Reactive N species are considered signaling molecules due to the capacity
of binding to certain species of proteins to triggering physiological responses. The use of
proteomics has been successfully used to determine proteins that may react directly with
signaling compounds, including RNS.
This research is focused on the production and purification of recombinant proteins, and
their characterization as catalytic mediators in the oxidative pathway for the production of
reactive N species in plants. [--]
