José Bergamín en la Guerra Civil española: “Con los comunistas, hasta la muerte; pero no más allá”

Abstract

Se presenta la controvertida figura del escritor José Bergamín, quien sin renunciar a sus creencias cristianas se postuló militante comunista durante los años de la Guerra Civil Española. Este artículo desvela las difíciles relaciones entre los escritores de la zona republicana, y la tensión que se creó entre ellos por las posturas radicales y ambiciones políticas de algunos escritores de la Alianza de Intelectuales Antifascistas para la Defensa de la Cultura, especialmente de José Bergamín.

We present the controversial figure of the writer Jose Bergamin, who without renouncing their Christian beliefs was a communist militant during the Spanish Civil War. This article reveals the difficult relationships between the writers of the Republican zone, and the tension created between them due to the radical views and political ambitions of some writers of the Alliance of Antifascist Intellectuals for the Defense of Culture, especially Jose Bergamin.
