Publication Open Access Ultra-wide band corrugated gaussian profiled horn antenna design(IEEE, 2001) Teniente Vallinas, Jorge; Gonzalo García, Ramón; Río Bocio, Carlos del; Ingeniería Eléctrica y Electrónica; Ingeniaritza Elektrikoa eta ElektronikoaA corrugated horn antenna design with more than 40% bandwidth is proposed in this paper. The measured radiated field patterns have a good agreement with the simulated ones. This antenna can be used in applications that require extremely wide bandwidth with low sidelobes and low crosspolar levels, with not very strong return loss requirements.Publication Open Access Suberb gaussian beam efficiency corrugated horn antennas(2010) Teniente Vallinas, Jorge; Gonzalo García, Ramón; Río Bocio, Carlos del; Ingeniería Eléctrica y Electrónica; Ingeniaritza Elektrikoa eta ElektronikoaIn this paper we are presenting the possibilities of corrugated horn antennas that combine horizontal and vertical corrugations.Publication Open Access Corrugated horn antenna noise temperature characterisation for the NRL water vapor millimeter-wave spectrometer project(2011) Teniente Vallinas, Jorge; Gómez, R.M.; Maestrojuán Biurrun, Itziar; Rebollo Mugueta, Ainara; Gonzalo García, Ramón; Río Bocio, Carlos del; Ingeniería Eléctrica y Electrónica; Ingeniaritza Elektrikoa eta ElektronikoaIn this paper the antenna noise temperature for two different corrugated horn antennas (old model and new model) for NRL WVMS is being characterized. The whole optical system will be simulated with Ticra’s GRASP software, and the corrugated horns with Mician μWave Wizard software. Spherical wave expansion from Mician μWave Wizard will be exported to Ticra’s GRASP to connect both results.Publication Open Access Conical versus gaussian profiled corrugated horn antennas(IEEE, 2002) Teniente Vallinas, Jorge; Gonzalo García, Ramón; Río Bocio, Carlos del; Ingeniería Eléctrica y Electrónica; Ingeniaritza Elektrikoa eta ElektronikoaIn this paper, a study of two equal size corrugated horn antennas; a conical and a gaussian profiled horn antenna (GPHA) has been developed. It will be demonstrated that GPHA´s provide lower sidelobes and wider bandwidths, while conical corrugated horn antennas offer higher directivities for the same aperture. Both type of antennas provide low crosspolar levels.Publication Open Access Estado del arte de las antenas que combinan corrugaciones horizontales y verticales(2005) Teniente Vallinas, Jorge; Gonzalo García, Ramón; Río Bocio, Carlos del; Ingeniería Eléctrica y Electrónica; Ingeniaritza Elektrikoa eta ElektronikoaIn the present paper the state of the art, possibilities, advantages and disadvantages of the patented corrugated horn antennas that combine horizontal and vertical corrugations is being covered. These rather new type and probably not very well known yet, corrugated horn profiles; combine in the same horn antenna both horizontal and vertical corrugations. This horn antenna produces with reasonable bandwidth, low crosspolarisation, and low sidelobe levels in a physical size smaller than any other solutions. In fact, designs from 15 to 30 dB directivity have been prepared and some of them have been manufactured, tested and arranged for an emerging market that is being served by Flann Microwave Ltd. at present.
