El retorno a Navarra de la reina de Sicilia en 1415

Blanca de Navarra, reina de Sicilia por su matrimonio con Martín el Joven, había quedado viuda en 1409 , fecha a partir de la cual había permanecido al frente de la isla bajo soberanía aragonesa. En 1415, con Fernando I como rey de Aragón, se preparó y desarrolló, por fin, su viaje de vuelta a Navarra, donde se había convertido en heredera del trono. El presente trabajo se ocupa del viaje de la reina, sobre el que se conserva un excepcional documento que permite, con la ayuda de otros fondos, reconstruir las negociaciones previas y el periplo completo, con sus diversas vicisitudes, en algunos casos esenciales para comprender el juego político del momento.

Blanca of Navarre, queen of Sicily since her marriage with Martin of Aragon, became a widow in 1409. Since that moment she stayed in the island governing it under the rule of the Crown of Aragon. In 1415, with Ferdinand I as king of Aragon, she was finally relieved of the charge. The trip back to Navarre, where she was the successor by then, was prepared and carried out. This paper studies the trip of the queen, for which we count on an extraordinary document which permits, together with other sources, to recreate the negotiations previous to the depart and the whole trip, with its different vicissitudes, sometimes essential in order to understand the political contexts of the moment.
