Abstract
Euskara batua sortu zenean, iritzi oso kontrajarriak agertu ziren aldaera estandarraren inguruan. Urteen poderioz, joera oso bestelakoa izan da: geroz eta bateragarritasun handiagoa ikusten da gizartean Euskara batuaren eta euskararen aldaerak diren euskalkien artean. Hala ere, oraindik ere iritzi ezberdinak aurki daitezke aldaera bakoitzaren erabilera esparruen inguruan eta baita aldaera bakoitzaren nolakotasunaren arabera. Ikerketa honetan, hain zuzen ere, euskararen aldaera ezberdinen inguruko gaur egungo jarrerak jaso nahi izan dira hainbat esparruei erreparatuz: hizkuntzaren "naturaltasuna", "autentikotasuna", estandarizazioa, nativespeakerism-a, biziraupena, eta prestigioa. Hori horrela, lan honek agerian uzten du adostasuna herritarren artean ez dela erabatekoa eta zonalde geografikoen artean ere iritzi ezberdinak aurki ditzakegula. Batzuek esparru formaletarako bakarrik ikusten dute egokia aldaera estandarra; beste batzuek, aldiz, eremu guztietara zabalduko lukete, zenbait zonaldetan dagoen aldaera bakarrela dela jakitun. Ikuspegi hori, gainera, beste jarrera batzuetan ere ikus daiteke. Oro har, beraz, alderdi hauek mahai gainean jartzea du ikerketa honek helburu.
When the unified Basque language was first established, many different conflicting opinions were voiced regarding it. Over the years, however, this has changed, and opinions regarding unified Basque and regional dialects of the language have become increasingly unified in Basque society. That said, contrasting opinions can still be found regarding where each variant of the language should be used, as well as in relation to the specific qualities of each. This study aims to explore current attitudes to the different versions of the Basque language, focusing on a number of different aspects: the 'naturalness' of the language, its authenticity, native-speakerism, survival and prestige. The results clearly indicate that general opinion is divided, and that differences also exist in accordance with geographical area. Some believe that the unified language is appropriate only for formal settings, while others hold that it should be used in all fields of life, given that, in some areas, it is the only variant spoken. This outlook is also evident in some other behaviours. The general aim of this study is therefore to identify and explore these differing opinions.
