Abstract
The number of people living with and beyond cancer, defined as “cancer survivors,” is increasing because of better cancer detection and improved personalized treatments. When people live more than 5 years after the end of active cancer treatment and are free of disease, they are defined as “long-term cancer survivors.” In this new life postcancer, survivors should redefine normalcy, adjust to new routines, priorities, and future plans and manage the potential long-term effects of cancer and its treatment.
