The aim of this market survey is to have an overview of the vision market in Europe in terms of processing units that comes from different origins – silicon manufacturer, laboratories, VHDL design companies – but also an overview of emerging start-ups in the field of vision systems for automotive and non exhaustive list of providers for software and algorithms. We do not expect to cover the full possibilities in each part but we want to provide an overview of the current works. The document is structured as follows: · The first part shows a quick overview of some original computing solution chips, based on very dedicated architectures. The technical background and advantages of the different solutions are quickly described. · Second part focuses on full system providers, companies and laboratories. I.e. companies that have the ability to set to sell a full vision-based DAS system either to the carmaker or to the car user. Such groups provide the algorithms or the hardware platform, even both of them sometimes. · Finally we concentrate on companies and laboratories working on the field of software and algorithms. This part has been dealt with in order to have a list of institutes to be contacted for an eventual collaboration.
