Búsqueda de itinerarios para la primera globalización: 1519-1565

Abstract

Con motivo del 500º aniversario de la primera vuelta al mundo protagonizada por la expedición de Magallanes-Elcano se tratan de abordar en estas líneas las motivaciones para ejecutar la expedición, toda la secuencia exploradora en el Pacífico, así como los intentos de cruzar el continente americano por el norte, sur y centro, hasta lograr el asentamiento en Filipinas y el descubrimiento del tornaviaje creándose el primer mercado global con el real de a ocho como moneda de cambio. El planisferio de Agnese muestra el inicio del tráfico marítimo global a partir de conocerse que los tenebrosos océanos eran transitables. Se establecieron las rutas marítimas que marcarían la economía mundial durante varios siglos, los océanos se convierten en autopistas que conectan las riberas del Pacífico, del Índico y del Atlántico, facilitando el intercambio comercial y cultural. Al final se presentan una serie de consecuencias de carácter global.

The following article, on the occasion of the 500th anniversary of the first round the world voyage of Magellan-Elcano, addresses the motivation behind the expedition, the entire scout sequence of the Pacific Ocean, together with the attempts to cross the American continent via the north, south and central area, until they settled in the Philippines and discovered the return route, thus creating the first global market with the 'real de a ocho' currency. The Agneses’s planisphere shows the onset of global maritime traffic, once the threatening oceans were shown to be passable. The sea routes that were established would mark the world economy for several centuries. The seas become highways connecting the pacific, Indian and Atlantic Ocean, facilitating trade and cultural exchange. Finally I present a series of consequences of a global nature.
