Menos conocida es la figura de la asistente social/trabajadora social. El objetivo, por ello, será el conocimiento de esta en Navarra, desde la apertura de la Escuela Diocesana de Asistentes Sociales San Vicente de Paúl de Pamplona (1960). Para ello se ha contado con la documentación del archivo privado de Teresa Celaya y entrevistas a asistentes sociales de la primera promoción. Se ha podido constatar que dejan de ser asistentes domiciliarias voluntarias, dependientes de parroquias, a ser profesionales que van a dar respuesta a las necesidades sociales emergentes de una Navarra y, sobre todo, Pamplona, que se industrializa de forma acelerada en la década de los sesenta.Ikerketa historikoak daude Espainiako pobreziaz eta eman zaion erantzun orokorraz. Horretarako, dokumentazio pribatua eta lehen promozioko gizarte laguntzaileei egindako elkarrizketak baliatu dira. Less known is the figure of the social assistant/social worker.
