No fructificó ninguno de ellos, en un período marcado tanto por la crisis de la foralidad vasco-navarra como por la crisis de la institución universitaria en España. En concreto, se analizan los proyectos de las Cortes para crear la Universidad del reino de Navarra (1816-1818 y 1828), el del Ayuntamiento de Pamplona de crear la Universidad de Pamplona de 1821, los de la Diputación Foral de la Universidad Vasco-Navarra y de la Universidad de Navarra de 1866, y los de la Universidad Vasco-Navarra de 1917-1931. Cada proyecto y sus correspondientes fracasos se analizan en el contexto jurídico-institucional de cada momento histórico.Throughout the nineteenth century, first the Kingdom of Navarre and the Provincial Council of Navarre from 1839 on-wards, promoted various projects to create a university in Navarre. None of them came to fruition, in a period marked both by the crisis of the Basque-Navarrese forality and by the crisis of the university institution in Spain. Specifically, the following projects are analysed: the project of the Cortes to crea-te the University of the Kingdom of Navarre (1816-1818 and 1828), that of the Pamplona City Council to create the University of Pamplona in 1821, those of the Provincial Coun-cil of the Basque-Navarre University and the University of Navarre in 1866, and those of the Basque-Navarre University in 1917-1931.
