OBJETIVOS: Determinar los efectos de la terapia espejo como tratamiento en pacientes amputados con SMF y en pacientes con un ACV de una evolución mínima de 6 meses. MATERIALES Y MÉTODOS: Se realizó una búsqueda bibliográfica con el fin de obtener ensayos clínicos que utilizasen la terapia espejo como tratamiento en el SMF y en el ACV, encontrando 11 artículos en total. RESULTADOS: Los protocolos evalúan los efectos de la terapia espejo utilizando diversas variables. En el caso del SMF están enfocadas al dolor, mientras que en el ACV están dirigidas a la funcionalidad del miembro superior, observándose mejoras significativas en ambas patologías. CONCLUSIÓN: La terapia espejo es beneficiosa en el SMF y en el ACV, disminuyendo el dolor y mejorando la función motora y funcionalidad del miembro superior respectivamente.INTRODUCTION: Mirror therapy is an innovative technique used in the treatment of phantom limb syndrome and stroke. OBJETIVES: To determine the effects of mirror therapy as a treatment in amputees with phantom limb syndrome and in patients with a stroke with a minimum evolution of 6 months. METHODS: A literature search was carried out in order to obtain clinical trials which were using mirror therapy in patients with phantom limb syndrome and in patients with a stroke, making a complete selection of 11 articles. RESULTS: All protocols evaluate the effects of mirror therapy using different variables. In the case of phantom limb syndrome are focused in pain, while in the stroke are directed to the functional aspects of the upper extremity, showing significant improvements in both pathologies.
