El caso español se creía la excepción, hasta que en 2018, la formación ultraderechista Vox logra entrar en el gobierno autonómico de Andalucía. Este hecho supuso el inicio de un crecimiento exponencial del partido y su cada vez mayor participación en gobiernos autonómicos acompañando al Partido Popular. Debido a la imposibilidad de formar gobierno en solitario tras las elecciones generales del 23 de junio de 2023, el Partido Socialista Obrero Español se inclinó hacia el independentismo catalán para lograr su apoyo y, de las negociaciones entre las distintas fuerzas, se concluyó la necesidad de elaborar una ley de amnistía dirigida a quienes habían liderado el referéndum de 2017 que, más tarde, sería denominada “Ley Orgánica de amnistía para la normalización institucional, política y social en Cataluña” con el objetivo de poner fin al conflicto catalán y rebajar las tensiones presentes. Esta ley ha sido criticada por Vox, empleándola como arma política para la identificación del separatismo catalán como fuente de inseguridad ciudadana.Recently, the radical right has been gaining strength and representation until it has established itself in most of Europe, the United States and Latin America as an attractive political alternative in times of uncertainty, distrust and instability. Spain was seeing as the exception, until 2018, when the radicalright-wing party Vox managed to enter the autonomous government of Andalusia. This fact meant the beginning of an exponential growth of the party and its increasing participation in regional governments accompanying the Popular Party. Due to the impossibility of forming a government alone after the general elections of 23 June 2023, the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party leaned towards the Catalan independence movement for support and, from the negotiations between the different forces, it was concluded the need to draft an amnesty law aimed at those who had led the 2017 referendum, which would later be called the “Organic Amnesty Law for institutional, political and social normalization in Catalonia” with the aim of putting an end to the Catalan conflict and reducing the current tensions.
