El Brexit constituye un acontecimiento histórico de especial relevancia, en tanto lleva a efecto el primer abandono de un Estado Miembro de la Unión Europea. Se expondrán las principales consecuencias de la retirada, al mismo tiempo que se tratará de dar respuesta a aquellas cuestiones pendientes entre el Reino Unido y la Unión Europea, abordando la coexistencia entre los diferentes ordenamientos jurídicos, europeo, británico y español, así como otros problemas y obstáculos que puedan surgir a consecuencia de la separación, como los interrogantes que suscita el nuevo régimen jurídico aplicable al cabotaje. Asimismo, se propondrán soluciones a la pluralidad legislativa que caracteriza el sector del transporte internacional de mercancías por carretera.The purpose of the work is to study and analyze, from the perspective of private international law, and specifically of road transport, the new scenario generated by the departure of the United Kingdom from the European Union. Brexit constitutes a historical event of special relevance, as it brings about the first withdrawal of a Member State from the European Union. The main consequences of the withdrawal will be explained, while an attempt will be made to respond to those pending issues between the United Kingdom and the European Union, addressing the coexistence between the different legal systems, European, British and Spanish, as well as other problems and obstacles that may arise as a result of separation, such as the questions raised by the new legal regime applicable to cabotage.
