Sociedad y medio ambiente: estudio del movimiento ecologista en Navarra

Abstract

El problema medioambiental puede entenderse como uno de los mayores retos a los que se enfrentan las sociedades contemporáneas. Como consecuencia de las ambivalencias que trajo consigo la Revolución industrial, el mundo está siendo sometido a importantes cambios que afectan a la supervivencia a largo plazo del planeta y de los seres que lo habitan. Este es el principal discurso del movimiento ecologista actual, un movimiento socio-político que reivindica una necesaria armonía entre lo social y lo natural. Los objetivos generales de esta investigación son dos: conocer los antecedentes y el desarrollo del ecologismo, y analizar la situación actual del movimiento ecologista navarro. La metodología empleada consiste en la revisión bibliográfica sobre este tema, y la realización de entrevistas semiestructuradas a miembros del movimiento. Con todo ello, podremos comprobar que la acción social del voluntariado así como las nuevas tecnologías son el motor del movimiento ecologista en Navarra

The environmental problem can be understood as one of the biggest challenges facing contemporary societies. As a result of the ambivalence brought about by the Industrial Revolution, the world is undergoing major changes affecting the long-term survival of the planet and the beings that inhabit it. This is the keynote address of the current environmental movement, a sociopolitical movement that claims a necessary harmony between the social and the natural. The overall objectives of this research are two: know the background and development of environmentalism, and analyze the current situation of the environmental movement in Navarra. The methodology consists of a literature review on this topic, and semi-structured interviews with members of the movement. With all of this, we can see that social action volunteering and new technologies are the engine of the environmental movement in Navarra
