Metodología activa en el desarrollo de una unidad didáctica para Ciencias Naturales en 3º ESO: Alimentación y Salud

Abstract

La presente memoria es el trabajo con el que se concluye el Máster de Profesorado de Educación Secundaria Obligatoria (curso 2013-2014). Con en ella se pretende aplicar los conocimientos adquiridos a lo largo del curso, así como los obtenidos tras realizar el Prácticum II. Para desarrollar el Trabajo Fin de Máster se evaluaron previamente los conocimientos que poseen los estudiantes de secundaria en torno a la alimentación y la salud. Para ello, y durante el Prácticum II, se recurrió a un grupo de 106 alumnos que cursaron las asignaturas de Ciencias de la Naturaleza (3º de la ESO) y Biología y Geología (1º de Bachiller). La evaluación de los conocimientos se efectuó mediante una encuesta estructurada para constatar no sólo errores conceptuales que poseen los alumnos, sino también su persistencia en el tiempo. A partir de los resultados de la encuesta, y tras una revisión bibliográfica, se propone una unidad didáctica en torno al binomio alimentación y salud para subsanar las deficiencias del aprendizaje. Con esta unidad didáctica se intenta que el alumnado migre desde un aprendizaje memorístico a un aprendizaje significativo. Dicha unidad se realizará para el tema “Alimentación y salud” dentro del bloque 5 “Las personas y la salud” de acuerdo al currículo adoptado en Navarra. El desarrollo de dicha unidad didáctica requiere métodos activos, de tal modo que el alumno sea responsable de su propio proceso de aprendizaje. Concretamente se proponen el uso de los métodos de Aprendizaje Cooperativo, como son el Aprendizaje Basado en Problemas (ABP) y el Estudio de Casos

The current memory is the work with which the Teacher´s Master in Compulsary Secundary Education is concluded, course (2013-2014). The objective is to use the knowledge acquired along the course as well as the knowledge got after carrying out the Practicum II. In order to carry out this Master project knowledge about nourishment and health of the students of Secundary Education was previously evaluated. For this purpose a group of 106 students that learnt Nature science in the third course of Compulsary Secundary Education, and Biology and Geology in the first course of Bachillerato (School Leaving Education) was tested during the Practicum II. The knowledge assessment was done by a survey that allowed to assure not only the conceptual mistakes that student have but also their persistence in time in spite of their education training. According to the results of the survey and a bibliographic revision, a didactic unit about the concept Nourishment and Health is proposed in order to solve the deficiencies in learning detected in this didactic unit so the students go from memoristic learning to a meaningful learning. That didactic unit will be carried out for the issue Nourishment and Health in the block 5: “People and Health” based on the curriculum adopted in Navarre. The development of that didactic unit requires active methods, so students are responsible for their own learning process. Concretely in this respect, the use of methods of Cooperative Learning, such as problembased learning (PBL) and Case Study is proposed
