Emakumearen irudia euskaltzaindiaren hiztegian

Abstract

A pesar de no ser un lenguaje de género, en euskera también se reflejan las características y valores de nuestra sociedad patriarcal y androcéntrica; no sólo se reflejan, sino que, de igual manera, los transmitimos y perpetuamos. Objetivo: analizar los roles, los prototipos de mujer y hombre que se presentan en Euskaltzaindiaren Hiztegia y sus diferencias estadística. Hay que mencionar que el presente trabajo es un estudio cuantitativo preliminar, un acercamiento a lo que sería el análisis completo, por lo que la muestra utilizada no contiene todas las palabras de Eus-kaltzaindiaren Hiztegia susceptibles de estudio. Resultados: Los resultados mostraron que el tratamiento que se da a las mujeres y a los hombres en este diccionario no es paritario. Así mismo, se puede decir que la experiencia de las mujeres, sus trabajos, características, etc. aparecen en muchas menos ocasiones. Tampoco es muy equilibrado en el número de ejemplos utilizados para las palabras que expresan género femenino y los utilizados para las que expresan género masculino. Las diferencias son evidentes y la brecha entre los dos géneros se va ampliando según el análisis se va haciendo más específico, más concreto.

Although the Basque language is not a gender language, it reflects the characteristics and values of our patriarchal and androcentric society; moreover, it does not only reflect them, it also transmits and perpetuates them. Aim: to analyze roles, and prototypes of woman and man that are presented in Euskaltzaindiaren Hizegia and their statistical differences. It should be mentioned that the present study is the first quantitative study, an approach to what would be a full analysis, so the sample used does not contain all the susceptible words of Euskaltzaindiaren Hiztegia that can be studied. Results: The results showed that the treatment of women and men given in this dictionary is not equal. We can also say that the experience of women, their jobs, features, etc. appear in many fewer occasions than man´s ones. At the same time, the number of examples used to express the female words and those used for expressing male ones is not balanced. The differences are evident and the gap between the two genders is growing as the analysis becomes more specific, more concrete.
