Relaciones intergrupales y favoritismo endogrupal: práctica con dos titulaciones de la UPNA

Abstract

El estudio de la conducta intergrupal supone, por un lado, la convergencia de procesos macrosociales, culturales, políticos, económicos e históricos; y por el otro, una serie de procesos psicosociales. Este estudio pone de manifiesto la potente influencia que los procesos grupales e intergrupales ejercen en el comportamiento individual y grupal. Se describen las principales teorías existentes desde los enfoques individuales y grupales. Las teorías más destacables dentro de los estudios de las condutcas grupales son la Teoría de la Identidad Social (Tajfel 1971) y la Autocategorización del Yo (Turner, 1982). En ellas se examina el favoritismo y el sesgo endogrupal. Los objetivos planteados en este trabajo pretenden analizar los procesos intergrupales desde la perspectiva de la identidad social y la auto-categorización; examinar la importancia del favoritismo endogrupal en dos titulaciones diferentes comparando los resultados; y aportar algunas reflexiones que pudieran servir de ayuda al alumnado de Trabajo Social acerca de los procesos y relaciones intergrupales.

The study of intergroup behaviour involves, on the one hand, the convergence of social, cultural, political, economic and historical processes; and, on the other hand, several psychological processes. This study highlights the strong influence that group and intergroup processes exercise on the individual and group behaviour. It describes the principal existing theories from both individual and group perspectives. The most noteworthy theories among the group behaviour studies are Tajfel’s (1971) Social Identity Theory and Turner’s (1982) Self-Categorization Theory. Both theories analyse in-group favouritism biases. The objectives outlined in this work try to analyse the inter-group processes from social identity and self-categorization theories, examine the importance of in-group favouritism in two different university degrees, comparing the results and shed some light on this subject that might help students of Social Work with regard to intergroup relationships.
