Desarrollo del rol educativo del museo: narrativas y tendencias educativas

Abstract

This article takes a chronological journey through the history of the emergence and transformation of the museum's educational role, and interweaves the explanation of this development with another discourse about the narratives museums have built. Trends in art education that have correspond or are still corresponding with these ways of understanding the museum are also pointed out. When describing the chronological developments of the educational role of the museum, the articles tries to refer, briefly, to the historical, political, social, intellectual and pedagogical contexts that have influenced and changed the educational theories and practices of art education in museums.

Este artículo realiza un recorrido cronológico sobre la historia de la emergencia y transformación del rol educativo del museo, y entrecruza la explicación de este desarrollo con otro relato sobre las narrativas que los museos han construido. Se señalan así mismo las tendencias en educación artística que se han correspondido o se siguen correspondiendo con estas grandes formas de entender el museo. En la descripción cronológica de la evolución del rol educativo del museo se intenta, aunque sea brevemente, hacer referencia a los contextos históricos, políticos, sociales, intelectuales y pedagógicos que han influido en los cambios en la naturaleza de las teorías y prácticas educativas de la educación artística en museos.
