Aizkibelen Euzkeratik erderara biurtzeko itztegia: eskuizkributik argitalpenera

Abstract

En el mundo de la vascología, en contadas ocasiones tenemos la oportunidad de comparar la edición y el manuscrito de un texto; en el caso del Diccionario Basco-Español de Aizkibel, sin embargo, es así. En este trabajo hemos comparado ese manuscrito y la versión publicada tras la muerte del autor. En lo que al manuscrito se refiere, hemos mostrado que se trata de la fuente de la edición y, tras datarlo, hemos expresado nuestras dudas en torno a la autoría. Hemos extraído las diferencias más reseñables entre la publicación y el manuscrito, sean formales o de contenido, y les hemos buscado una posible justificación. Por último, tras observar que incluso en la propia edición hay diferencias entre ejemplares, hemos investigado en torno al número de ediciones y hemos tratado de explicar dichas diferencias, describiendo la cronología de las labores de impresión y distribución del diccionario.

Lan honetan eskuizkribu hori eta egilea hil ondoren argitaratutako bertsioa konparatu ditugu. Gordetzen den eskuizkribuari so, edizioaren iturri dela erakutsi dugu eta datatu ondoan, egiletasun zalantzak agertu ditugu. Argitalpenaren eta eskuizkribuaren arteko alderik nabarmenenak agertu ditugu, bai forman, bai edukian, eta horren balizko arrazoiak bilatu. Azkenik, edizioaren barnean alez ale ere aldeak daudela ikusita, edizio kopuruaren inguruko hausnarketa egin dugu eta desberdintasun horien arrazoiak eman, hiztegiaren inpresio eta banaketa lanen kronologia eta deskribapena eginez.

In the world of Basque studies, we rarely have the opportunity to compare the published version and the manuscript of a text: in the case of Aizkibel’s Basque-Spanish Dictionary, however, we do. In this article, we compare the manuscript and the version published after the death of the author. Concerning the manuscript, we show that it is the source of the publication and, after dating it, we express our doubts regarding its authorship. We have extracted the most remarkable differences between the publication and the manuscript, in terms of both form and content, and seek a potential justification. Finally, having observed that there are even differences between copies of the publication itself, we investigate the number of editions and try to explain these differences, describing the chronology of the printing and distribution of the dictionary.
