The objective of this project is to explain the reorganization process of the Purchase Quality
Material section of Volkswagen Navarra’s Quality department. The necessity for change comes
from the future introduction of two models’ simultaneous series production, a complete
innovation for this factory.
In order to understand completely the redesign, this project firstly analyses the functioning of
the PQM department, its main tasks and the different types of workers that form it.
Afterwards, the project focuses on the core part: the redesign process. It is divided into three
main phases so that the change it is successfully planned and implemented. The reorganization
of the PQM department is a key issue for the Volkswagen Navarra factory because it is in
charge of ensuring the quality for which the company is well known.
In conclusion, the implementation of a new operational design of the PQM department is
crucial for achieving the quality requirements in face of two models’ series production. [--]
