| es_ES |
dc.description.abstract | The ideal of beauty is a social establishment that implicitly contains a number of accepted and agreed aptitudes according to a determined society. In Western societies, thinness is synonym for success and autonomy, and it is pursued even if this can cause health problems, such as, anorexia and bulimia. However, in Northwest Africa, more specifically in Western Sahara, obesity is the purpose of women, as it is seen as a sign of prosperity and femininity, and techniques like including corticosteroids on their diets or an over-ingesting of food are used to achieve this objective. Consequently, the figures of obesity and overweight between Saharawi female population are high. The aim of this project is to propose a health education program for 18-45 year-old Saharawi women, in order to concern them of current obesity problems and promote a healthy diet and a rutine of physical exercise. The program is divided into five parts, which is focused on granting these women the essential knowledge so that they would be able to detect the need to change their lifestyles and the way to conduct them. | es_ES |
