Social networks have burst into our society as the main source of communication and dissemination of content. In this context, the relationship, connection and proximity that minors feel with these platforms is greater than that of any other collective. Despite the many opportunities they present, their lack of maturity, awareness and experience means that their actions are not guided by the prevention and prudence that they should, causing the increase of their exposure to risks and of the likelihood that their rights will be infringed. Therefore, the legislator must be able to offer civil and criminal protection mechanisms that take into account the specificity of childhood and their marked vulnerability. Efforts have been made, but it still remains to adapt the traditional regulatory framework to the challenges of the digital age and to fill the existing gaps.es_ES
