The main objective of the following empirical work is to study the Executive Functions for the
subsequent design of an Intentional and Systematic Educational Intervention that favours their
improvement. It is structured in two parts: the theoretical framework, which refers to concepts such
as Neurodiversity or Neurodidactics, as well as to the Executive Functions themselves, and the
empirical study, which describes and analyses the educational intervention developed with students
in the 1st year of Primary Education, consisting of an initial activity (the CARAS-R Test by Thurstone &
Yela), which is repeated at the end to evaluate the evolution of the subjects, and individual fiveminute daily tasks (Letter Soup, Clues, Letter Search, Find the intruder, Go-no go and 7 differences),
accompanied by a self-recording of the Degree of Satisfaction and the emotions experienced. The
results of the final Test show that, although both the experimental and control groups started from a
high level, there was a more significant improvement in the group that received a systematic
intervention, which demonstrates that the Executive Functions can be improved following
appropriate training. The conclusions point to the close relationship between cognitive performance
and affective-emotional dimensions. [--]
