El suicidio laboral como consecuencia de los factores de riesgo psicosocial

Abstract

El mundo del trabajo ha estado y permanece en constante cambio y tras el surgimiento de nuevas formas en la organización, diseño y gestión de este se atiende a un aumento considerable de los factores psicosociales de riesgo y, por consiguiente, de los riesgos psicosociales afectando en una mayor medida a la salud y el bienestar de los trabajadores. Pero no solo sobre los mismos, sino también sobre la propia organización perjudicándola. No obstante, prestar una especial atención a los factores psicosociales desde la prevención sería clave para evitar que se comportaran estos de una manera disfuncional, tornándose así en factores nocivos y perjudiciales para ambos, tanto para los empleados como para la empresa. Y es que, precisamente uno de los riesgos psicosociales que más azotan a la esfera laboral es el referido al estrés en el trabajo, generando en el individuo trabajador consecuencias verdaderamente dañinas a distintos niveles, pudiendo incluso conllevar, si este perdurase en el tiempo, es decir, se volviese crónico, a una conducta suicida llegando así el estrés a actuar entonces como el promotor o impulsor del acto suicida en el trabajo en diversas ocasiones.

The world of work has been and remains in constant change and after the emergence of new forms of work organization, design and management of this, there has been a considerable increase in psychosocial risk factors and, consequently, in psychosocial risks affecting to a greater extent the health and well-being of workers. But not only on the workers themselves, but also on the organization itself harming it. However, paying special attention to psychosocial factors from the point of view of prevention would be key to prevent them from behaving in a dysfunctional manner, thus becoming harmful and damaging factors for both employees and the company. And it is precisely one of the psychosocial risks that most plague the labor sphere is that referred to stress at work, generating truly harmful consequences at different levels in the individual worker, which can even lead, if it lasts over time, that is, if it becomes chronic, to suicidal behavior, thus acting as the promoter or impeller of the suicidal act at work on several occasions.
