Beneficios potenciales del uso de probióticos en pacientes con enfermedad de Crohn

Abstract

La incidencia de la enfermedad de Crohn (EC) está aumentando en los últimos años y, debido a su cronicidad y a la inexistencia de un tratamiento curativo para la misma, esta enfermedad requiere especial dedicación. Entre las opciones terapéuticas existentes no hay una única y eficaz para todos los pacientes. Aunque son varios los factores que intervienen en esta enfermedad, destaca en particular la alteración de la microbiota intestinal. Es por ello que el presente TFG revisa los posibles usos que tienen los probióticos en el tratamiento de la EC. Su uso clínico está poco estudiado, pero está tomando especial relevancia por las propiedades que estos tienen sobre la microbiota intestinal. Se pone en evidencia el posible potencial beneficioso de los mismos. También muestran resultados positivos en pacientes que han sido sometidos a una cirugía recientemente. Así pues, los probióticos podrían suponer una terapia eficaz para esta enfermedad. Por otro lado, Enfermería está asumiendo de forma continua y progresiva diferentes competencias, planteándose la necesidad de especialización en este ámbito, para poder ofertar al paciente unos cuidados de mayor calidad, mejorando su estilo de vida. Es en este contexto que el Plan de Intervención va dedicado a sintetizar la información de mayor trascendencia para que sea útil al paciente. Además, se considera interesante añadir asociaciones y páginas web que contienen datos y recomendaciones veraces que también pueden ayudar en un momento determinado.

The incidence of Crohn’s Disease (CD) has increased in the recent years. Due to his peculiarity etiology and the not-existence of a curative treatment, this pathology suggests a higher attention than the others. Looking up the different therapeutic options, there is not actually specific drug that can be used with every patient. Moreover, most of the affected people should submit under a surgical intervention at least once in their lives. The aim of this review is to expose the benefits the probiotics can do in the treatment of Crohn’s Disease. This is a subject without a large path of scientific studies done, but it is actually beginning to grow in value. Owing to the increase of the incidence, the aim of my intervention is focused on the creation of an useful and helpful tool dedicated to CD patients, where they can found the main information about their disorder. It will also include some of the principal institutions which treat the CD issue. Nursing is taking an important role on situations with this characteristics because of his ability to offer more specific attention. If they could be able to achieve that, the patient could see his health improved. The last conclusions of this record affirm the existence of advantages for the patients who used probiotics during his treatment, even more, they show effectiveness on patients after surgery.
