The use of new technologies with a view to optimizing care, health
prevention, and the use of portable biometric monitoring devices that allow remote
measurement and analysis of patient data is today notable, with particular
importance in the control of overweight and obesity. The recording of parameters
by the patient on their mobile phones allows health prevention not to fall solely on
the health specialist. Studies show that the better understanding and active
participation of patients in monitoring their health conditions results in relatively
more positive results than in patients less aware and involved with the treatment
and prevention process. The conscious use of applications on mobile devices, the
active participation of the patient in their health status and how they can report their
evolution to healthcare personnel is the central aspect of this pilot proposal in
Public Health, auguring positive results over time for the population object of the
intervention, the Autonomous Community of Navarre. [--]
