El desigual reparto del trabajo doméstico antes y durante la pandemia

Abstract

El confinamiento establecido por decreto a causa de la crisis del coronovirus supuso que los hogares españoles tuvieran que afrontar un incremento de las tareas domésticas en un escenario inédito. El objetivo de este artículo es analizar cómo ha sido el reparto del quehacer doméstico en familias biparentales de género opuesto. Asimismo, se estudia el papel del teletrabajo en aquellos hogares en los que se acogieron a esta modalidad. Para ello, se han utilizado los Barómetros realizados para el Parlamento Foral de Navarra en 2019 y 2020, lo que nos va a permitir comparar dicho reparto, antes y durante la pandemia. Los resultados muestran la desigualdad de género en ambos períodos y apuntan a una mayor polarización social en los hogares. El teletrabajo no ha supuesto un reparto más equitativo.

The lockdown established by decree due to the coronavirus crisis meant that Spanish households had to face an increase in domestic tasks in an unprecedented scenario. The objective of this article is to analyse how the distribution of housework has been in opposite-gender two-parent households. Likewise, the role of telework is studied in those households in which they took advantage of this modality. To do this, the Barometers made for the Navarra Provincial Parliament in 2019 and 2020 have been used, which will allow us to compare said distribution, before and during the pandemic. The results show gender inequality in both periods and point to greater social polarization in households. Teleworking has not meant a more equitable distribution.
