BACKGROUND: AVB is a seasonal viral infection that obstructs the lower respiratory tract in infants < 2 years of age, it is the leading cause of respiratory failure in this population. There is still no consensus on its treatment.

BACKGROUND: AVB is a seasonal viral infection that obstructs the lower respiratory tract in infants < 2 years of age, it is the leading cause of respiratory failure in this population. There is still no consensus on its treatment.
· OBJECTIVES: to determine a reproducible and effective treatment to reduce the time of illness and improve quality of life in patients with AVB.
· METHODS: a literature review was done in three databases (PubMed, PEDro and ScienceDirect).
Inclusion criteria: RCTs published in 2012-2022 that evaluated the treatment of AVB, Q1/Q2 quartile journals, among others. Severe stages were excluded. Eleven articles were selected.
· RESULTS: found evidence of NHS, HFWHO, HFNC, CPAP, PSE, AAD and IPV treatments to improve
severity, respiratory distress and LOH. No treatment was found to improve feeding capacity.
· DISCUSSION: three techniques were found to be superior: PSE, HFWHO, HFNC.
· CONCLUSIONS: integration of different techniques seems to be the best approach for AVB. More
quality studies are needed. [--]
