Los algoritmos de Potenciación del gradiente, Bosque aleatorio, Red neuronal y Red neuronal bayesiana se han aplicado con éxito en el contexto de la metalurgia física para modelar el comportamiento termomecánico mediante pruebas de torsión de un acero TWIP (Twinning-Induced Plasticity) impulsado por datos experimentales, en el intervalo de temperaturas 25◦C ≤ T ≤ 450◦C a tres velocidades de deformación equivalentes diferentes, ε˙, 1.4 · 10−3 , 0.1, 3.7 s −1 . La estrategia realizada partió de una etapa de preprocesamiento, la cual no solo permitió reducir los valores atípicos del conjunto de datos, sino de minimizar los patrones sistemáticos asociados a los errores existentes en las pruebas de torsión por su complejidad. Además, el enfoque de preprocesamiento ayudó a reducir el tiempo de cálculo en los procesos de entrenamiento. Después de preprocesar las dieciocho pruebas de torsión, se calcularon los cuatro modelos de aprendizaje. Vale la pena señalar, que partiendo del conjunto de datos de entrenamiento inicial se realizaron 5 repeticiones de remuestreo de validación cruzada con 10 iteraciones, obteniendo así excelentes resultados de predicción en los cuatro modelos. Sin embargo, de las cuatro técnicas se eligieron dos, el Bosque aleatorio y la Potenciación del gradiente como candidatas más viables, principalmente porque tuvieron unos excelentes resultados de predicción en todo el rango de tem peraturas, T, para las tres velocidades de deformación equivalentes. Por lo tanto, hay interesantes evidencias para considerar que el Bosque aleatorio y la Potenciación del gradiente pueden ser herramientas flexibles y precisas para realizar trabajos de predicción en el campo de la metalurgia física.
