In this work, the new results of a study about the general Kovalev’s coherence principle are presented. As we will show here, despite Kovalev presents the coherence principle as general, only the fundamental case can be considered in order to design a total mode converter. Only when the perturbation period length is equal to the beat length between the two desired modes we will have a total power interaction between these modes.en
