secundarias. [--]

The French Revolution marked a point of no return in the history of mankind. The formation of
the contemporary world had its origin in the changes that happened in France after 1789. Therefore,
those who experienced it firsthand had to bear the enormous historical mark that this event left. One
of those living witnesses was Joseph de Maistre, a Saboyard jurist, thinker and diplomat who was forced
by the revolution to go into exile to Russia. There, he spent two decades studying the characteristics of
that unique phenomenon that was taking place not very far away of his native land, providing us with
an intellectual analysis of the historical meaning and consequences of the revolution at all levels. This
work seeks to analyse the thought of Joseph de Maistre through the theoretical approaches of the
configuration of a community or society by Ferdinand Tönnies, and the thesis of Hartog, Koselleck and
Arendt about the régimes d’historicité, the gaps and the historical time. In order to do this, the research
will be based on the study of the work of the Count of Maistre and its comparison with the theoretical
approaches of secondary sources. [--]
