The sensing head was designed, ruggedized and customized to measure velocities at different depths, in order to calculate the discharge in open channels. This chair arises due to the plummeting tendency of the percentage of women in STEM degrees with the aim of reversing this trend. The programme of activities is defined throughout this contribution by six activities: a Theatre Play, a Poster Award on Final Degree/Masters Project, The 1st Week of Women, Science and Technology, the Promotion of Technical Degrees in schools and high-schools, a Workshop about Gender Stereotypes and the Fostering of Women among Science and Environment. Each activity gained great success and the preset goals were highly accomplished, especially, the 1st Week of Women, Science and Technology activity. We have collected simultaneous data under several different operating conditions ranging from the idling state to nominal power close to cut-out. Both frequency and damping parameters have been estimated for the first and second Fore-Aft (FA) and Side-Side (SS) tower modes. As far as we know, there are no previous publications combining data from so many turbines, operating conditions, and for a time period spanning several months. We have made use of a novel strategy to isolate the modes and minimize the influence of harmonics, using an algorithm previously proposed by the authors. The main conclusion is that estimated modal frequencies allow for a clear discrimination between turbines, whereas damping ratios, subjected to much wider deviations, do not seem to be very discriminant. We show here results for only one operating mode (nominal power), for which the method has been tuned. The resultant sensing film was fabricated using a nanofabrication process, known as layer-by-layer embedding (LbL-E) deposition technique. In this sense, both silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) and gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) were synthesized using a synthetic chemical protocol as a function of a strict control of three main parameters: polyelectrolyte concentration, loading agent, and reducing agent. The use of metallic nanostructures as sensing materials is of great interest because well-located absorption peaks associated with their LSPR are obtained at 420 nm (AgNPs) and 530 nm (AuNPs). The present work studies the feasibility of an autonomous volcanic monitoring system powered by thermoelectric generators for one of the monitoring stations of the Teide National Park (Canary Island), where temperatures of 80°C at few centimeters from the surface are found. Scientific culture and dissemination are the main focus of the different actions of the Chair. These activities include: the theatrical performance "Yo quiero ser científica", experimental workshops and conferences and exhibitions for all audiences and ages. More than 6.000 people have seen the play, more than 1.500 secondary school students have participated in the workshops and the audiovisual material has received more than 20.000 visits.
