| dc.description.abstract | En este trabajo el autor analiza el sufijo -ain, que tanto ha dado que hablar entre los estudiosos que se han ocupado de la toponimia vasca, con el objetivo de hacer un poco de luz en este tema todavía oscuro en cierta medida. En cuanto a la estructura del trabajo, el autor explica en primer lugar cuál es la extensión del sufijo e intenta ver si hay algún tipo de relación entre el -ain vasco y los nombres bearneses con final similar. Después examina lo que los diversos autores han dicho sobre -ain, clasificándolos por grupos. Finalmente, y de manera bastante extensa, el autor expone su punto de vista, basándose para ello sobre todo en los nombres que aparecen en la toponimia navarra. | es_ES |

| dc.description.abstract | The suffix –ain, the root of no little discussion among students of Basque toponymia, is examined by the author of this study with the idea in mind of shedding a little light on this still somewhat shady subject. As for the structure of the work, the author first explains how widespread the suffix is and tries to find some kind of relation between the Basque –ain and those Béarnaise names with a similar ending. He goes on to examine what different authors have had to say about –ain and classifies them by groups. Finally, the author explains his own point of view in some detail, using the names that appear in Navarran toponymy as his main basis. | en |
