Memoria de la Guerra Civil Española

Tras 85 años desde el comienzo de la Guerra Civil Española, el recuerdo del conflicto continua presente en la sociedad española. La cruenta guerra que partió en dos al país ha dejado su impronta en forma de conflicto larvado, obstaculizando la convivencia en democracia. A través del uso de políticas de la memoria, vehículo cohesionador y creador de identidades colectivas, el recuerdo de la guerra ha sido utilizado por el poder y ha tomado distintas formas a lo largo de los siglos XX y XXI. Utilizada en un primer momento por el franquismo para enterrar el pasado republicano, la memoria se convirtió en una potente herramienta de socialización. Durante la transición el olvido respecto al delicado pasado bloqueó la memoria de la Guerra Civil y las víctimas de la represión franquista. Sin embargo, con el resurgir del interés por parte de una nueva generación en la década de los noventa, la memoria de la Guerra Civil ha penetrado otra vez en el espacio público y se ha plasmado en varias leyes. Es por esto que se considera necesario el análisis del fenómeno de la memoria de la Guerra Civil y su evolución.

After 85 years since the beginning of the Spanish Civil War, the memory of the conflict is still present in Spanish society. The bloody war that split the country in two has left its mark in the form of a latent conflict, hindering coexistence in democracy. Through the use of memory policies, a cohesive vehicle and creator of collective identities, the memory of the war has been used by power and has taken different forms throughout the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. Initially used by the Francoist regime to bury the republican past, memory became a powerful tool for socialization. During the transition, forgetfulness about the delicate past blocked the memory of the Civil War and the victims of Francoist repression. However, with the resurgence of interest on the part of a new generation in the 1990s, the memory of the Civil War has once again penetrated the public space and has been embodied in several laws. It is for this reason that an analysis of the phenomenon of Civil War memory and its evolution is considered necessary
