Desde un segundo plano: la participación de las mujeres en la Gamazada

| dc.description.abstract | A pesar de la notable discriminación política, social y jurídica a la que se enfrentaban, miles de mujeres participaron en las protestas organizadas en 1893 y 1894 que reforzaron el derecho foral navarro. Eso sí, su participación se llevó a cabo de manera secundaria y al margen del poder político. Este artículo analiza la Gamazada desde una perspectiva de género en base a un análisis exhaustivo del libro de firmas reunidas en 1893 en contra de los planes del ministro Germán Gamazo para suprimir el régimen fiscal propio de Navarra. El libro reúne 40 391 firmas de mujeres, un 37,6 % del total de adhesiones. Firmaron un 83 % de las mujeres navarras alfabetizadas, un dato ignorado por la extensa historiografía dedicada al estudio de la Gamazada. Este artículo trata de dar respuesta a estos datos deteniéndose en varios elementos que podemos ubicar como causas movilizadoras: el feminismo internacional decimonónico, el caciquismo político y económico, y la influencia de la prensa y de la Iglesia. | es_ES |
| dc.description.abstract | Nahiz eta diskriminazio politiko, juridiko eta soziala sufritu, milaka emakumek parte har-tu zuten 1893 eta 1894. urteetan foruen alde Nafarroan antolatu ziren protestetan. Hori bai, emakumeen parte hartzea gune politikoetatik kanpo garatu zen eta betiere bigarren mai-la batetik. Artikulu honek Gamazada genero ikuspegi batetik aztertzen du eta horretarako 1893ean German Gamazo ministroaren kontra bildu ziren sinaduren azterketa xehea egiten du. Ministro hark, izan ere, Nafarroako erregimen fiskala ken tzeko proposamena egin zuen. Guztira, 40 391 emakumeren sinadura bildu ziren, izenpe guztien %37,6. Emakume alfabe-tizatuen artean %83k sinatu zuten. Datua deigarria bada ere, Gamazadaren inguruko histo-riografiak ez ditu orain arte portzentaje horiek ikertu. | dc.description.abstract | Despite their strong political, legal and social discrimination, thousands of women took part in the series of protests organised in 1893 and 1894 to defend the historical laws and rights of Navarre. However, that participation was developed in the background and outside the field of political power. This article studies the Gamazada from a gender perspective and analyses the signatures in the petition against the plans of the minister German Gamazo to abolish the fiscal autonomy of Navarre. 37.6 % of these signatures belong to women, as 40 391 women signed. 83% of women who could read and write signed the petition. So far, the vast academic literature on the Gamazada has not paid attention to these striking figures. For this reason, this work makes an attempt to study the complex and varied reasons that explain the high participation of women: the expansión of international feminism in the XIX century, the influence of political and economic chiefs, and the role of newspapers and the Church. | en |
