Propuesta didáctica para conocer la biblioteca y sus posibilidades en Educación Primaria

La competencia lectora es fundamental en el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje para el desarrollo del alumnado. Por ello, los estudiantes deben tener la oportunidad de conocer y participar en la biblioteca, un lugar óptimo para aprender y que sirve de apoyo a los centros escolares. Así, este trabajo explora las nociones y actitudes hacia la biblioteca que tiene el alumnado de 5º de Educación Primaria de un colegio público de Navarra, para posteriormente incrementar su conocimiento y promover su interés a través de una propuesta didáctica de carácter lúdico. El resultado de la secuencia permite comprender que los escolares necesitan cambiar el concepto de las bibliotecas y de las posibilidades que estas ofrecen, tanto para aumentar el conocimiento de su mundo como para despertar su motivación. Se ha de seguir insistiendo y sensibilizando para que el alumnado conozca la realidad bibliotecaria partiendo de sus necesidades e intereses.

Literacy is important in the teaching-learning process for students’ development. Therefore, students should have the opportunity to know and participate in the library as an optimal place for learning as it supports the school. In this way, this work explores the perceptions and attitudes of 5th grade elementary school students in a public school in Navarre towards the library. Subsequently, it aims to expand their knowledge and stimulate their interest through a didactic proposal of a playful nature. The result of the sequence allows the students to understand that they need to change the concept of libraries and the opportunities they offer, both to increase their knowledge of their world and to awaken their motivation. We must continue to insist and raise awareness so that students know the reality of libraries based on their needs and interests.
