Selección de libros para la biblioteca escolar en Educación Infantil

En todas las etapas educativas la lectura es una de las principales herramientas para el aprendizaje. En Educación Infantil, hablamos de lectura antes de decodificar palabras, es la llamada “alfabetización emergente”. Al igual que en los demás ciclos educativos, el mejor recurso para promover el gusto por la lectura y acercar al alumnado a la literatura infantil es la biblioteca escolar. Esta debe estar correctamente dotada y organizada con el fin de ofrecer experiencias lectoras de calidad y servir de apoyo a todas las áreas del currículo. En este trabajo se ha analizado la realidad concreta de la biblioteca en un centro de Educación Infantil a partir de criterios aportados por especialistas y siguiendo la metodología de “estudio de casos”. Así, se ha estudiado si el fondo es numéricamente suficiente, si es diverso en cuanto a los temas y si es de calidad según la presencia de obras consideradas relevantes. Este estudio ha puesto de relieve la riqueza numérica y la diversidad temática de esta biblioteca, así como el interés de enriquecer su fondo con títulos repetidamente nombrados por expertos. En este sentido se ofrece una propuesta de veinte libros que pueden aportar valor a la biblioteca, según el estudio realizado.

Reading is one of the main learning tools in all educational stages. In preschool, we talk about reading before decoding words; what we call “emerging literacy”. As in the other educational cycles, the best resource to get a student to like reading and to bring him closer to children’s literature is through a school library. This should be well- organized and well-equipped so as to offer quality reading experiences and support all the syllabus. What we have analysed in this assignment the reality of a school library in a preschool classroom, according to the criteria from specialists and following the “case study” methodology. The different things that have been taken into account are if there is sufficient content quantity in the books, if there is a diversity in the subjects and if there is good quality according to the catalogue of recommended books. This study has highlighted the numerical richness and thematic diversity of this library, as well as the interest in enriching its collection with titles repeatedly nominated by experts. For this reason, we have worked out a proposal of selecting twenty books that can add value to the library, according to the study carried out.
