Once the electric vehicle battery comes to the 80% of their state of health, they are changed for
new ones. However, the amount of energy that can be still stored is quite high. Although
technical viability of these retired batteries is unknown, they could be used for other
applications. The main purpose of this project is to analyse the aging of batteries from real
electric vehicles, in order to determine if they could be reused as storage systems in installations
withrenewable energies. For example, saving the extra electric energy produced for when the
production decrees or the demand increase. Therefore, we are going to analyse accelerated
battery aging tests by changing the temperature, state of charge, and current. Al in all, we are
going to estimate how long the life of a battery from electric vehicles could be in different
situations. [--]
