With this project the relationship between the directed methodology and the experienced
methodology has been compared. Specifically, the intention of the proposal has been the systematic
observation throughout four sessions in which the students have been able to experience actions in
both methodologies, express their preferences and have been observed, through different
recordings, the actions carried out over time in both ways of approaching psychomotricity sessions in
an educational center.
In order to answer the question of which is the most appropriate methodology, a theoretical
study has been carried out on the concept of psychomotor skills, the characteristics of three-year-old
boys and girls, psychomotor skills in Early Childhood Education, its benefits and a brief description of
symbolic play. After this theoretical part, the intervention carried out with three-year-old students at
school and the analysis of the instruments used for data collection have been described.
We consider psychomotricity as an important part of the Early Childhood Education
curriculum in the Foral Community of Navarre, since it contributes to the integral development of the
students. That is the reason why we have considered it as an interesting aspect for the elaboration of
this project. [--]
